- Follow FHWA design guidance to predict scour depths at bridge abutments and intermediate pier location using HEC-RAS 1-D river backwater analysis.
- Identify scour critical bridges and make recommendations for repairs or monitoring during times of floods.
Fish Passage
- Follow 2013 DFW Water Crossing Design Guidelines to design culverts, three sided culverts, and bridges to accommodate fish passage criteria
- Perform energy analysis on rivers and design energy dissipation structures.
Stormwater Management
- Follow design criteria and guidance from the WSDOT Highway Runoff Manual (HRM) or other applicable municipal ordinances.
- Review, design, and consult on surface water management issues for roadway and bridge projects.
Stormwater Design
- Follow design criteria and guidance from WSDOT Hydraulics Manual (HM) or other applicable municipal ordinances.
- Review, design, and consult on roadway and bridge deck drainage.
Training
- Provide training of MGSFlood to local agencies and consultants.
- Provide hands on training for storm water treatment guidance.
- Provide training of basic hydrology and hydraulic engineering concepts.
